Infographic-Do You Use Chat GPT?

Do You Use Chat GPT? Infographic

My task for this week was to design an infographic using information from the website www.pewresearch.org.  When I initially read the project directions, I misunderstood the task, thinking we were supposed to choose one of the three infographic generator websites and create an infographic. For my choice, I decided to use Piktochart. My first impression was that Piktochart closely resembled Canva, a tool I was already familiar with. However, I quickly realized that there were some differences.

One of the challenges I encountered with Piktochart was the need to experiment with the layout to make text fit well within the design. It wasn't as user-friendly in this aspect as I had hoped. Additionally, I found that a significant number of appealing images and icons required an upgrade purchase, limiting my options for graphics. This limitation was frustrating, as it restricted my creative choices and forced me to rely more on basic elements. The overall time it took me to complete the project using Piktochart was around one hour, which seemed reasonable given my previous experience with design tools.

Next, I explored Infogram, which, in my opinion, was the standout among the three websites. It was the easiest to use and provided more graphic possibilities without a need for an update. It was simple to add text, and I could see how using this service would have greatly shortened the time needed to finish my job.  Infogram's ease of use and graphics availability made it a top choice in this comparison.

The last site I reviewed was Easle.ly, and unfortunately, it did not fare well in comparison to the other two. Easle.ly had practically no icons available for use in my infographic, and most of them required an upgrade purchase. The process of adding text was also cumbersome, and the overall appearance of the site was not visually pleasing. It was clear that Easle.ly was not as user-friendly or resourceful as the other two options.

While all three infographic generator websites had their strengths and weaknesses, Piktochart presented challenges with text placement and limited graphics availability. Infogram stood out as the most user-friendly and versatile option, offering a wide range of graphics without requiring an upgrade. Easle.ly was the least favorable choice, with limited icons, difficult text handling, and an unappealing overall appearance. Click the link above to view that infographic I created.

  1. Thank you for sharing your findings on infographic platforms. I am a big Canva fan so other platforms I have explored don't seem as easy to use and don't produce as nice of results, in my opinion. I enjoyed reading over your infographic on Chat GPT. It's very interesting to see the results based on age and gender.

  2. Najat, your infographic was so detailed and visually pleasing. I wonder how much those statistics about Chat GPT will change in a year?
